Want to improve your online business?

Here are some questions for you to think about:

  • Figure out the 80/20 rule. What 20% of your effort is driving 80% of the result (e.g. revenue)
  • Are you allocating enough time to reflect on your business, values and mission? Or are you just another “me 2”? One litmus test to tell is if a local reported walked up to you and asked about your business story, is it going to be remarkable?
  • How many times have you talked to your customers today? You always have to be on the trenches if you want to improve your business experience
  • Do you have a mentor to model after? It doesn’t have to be a real person. It could come from books, podcasts, or your future self

Are you wasting time keeping track of your employee expense?

Recently, I discovered an app called Divvy where you can create and use virtual cards for your employees. It could save you countless of hours compiling expense reports from your employees. Also, you can control how much credit is allocated to each department/person.  Sharing company card is dangerous, and here’s why:

Are you an iPhone user and want to move your iCloud photos to a local drive? Here’s how

Recently, I had the same question and went to the Genius Bar for help.

  1. Sync your iCloud photos with Photo App (the native Mac one)
  2. Photo App > Preferences > iCloud tab > Tick iCloud Photo Library > Download Originals to this Mac > and also Tick My Photo Stream > Tick iCloud Photo Sharing
  3. Wait for them to sync
  4. Open up Photo App
  5. Select the files and drag them to the external hard drive
  6. I was able to retain the original photo (both quality and size) in jpg format; however, for files they are formatted in m4v as opposed to mov. Also the dimensions are smaller if I were to download each one of them directly from iCloud (Still waiting for a solution)
  7. Done

What is the best way to crack into the world of Facebook marketing and media buying as a career?

You can either join an advertising agency that specializes in Facebook media buying (e.g., Marketing Partners | Facebook Marketing Partners) or work at an early stage/mid-sized startup that focuses on paid social acquisition. Former – You get to know a wide spectrum of industries/verticals and build up client skills. Each and everyone of them has a different KPI like cost per engagement, cost per acquisition, cost per lead, etc… Latter – You can see the entire funnel from top to bottom, own your outcome, and work across different departments like engineering, creative, and analytics.
